Seeing the Invisible

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.                  2 Corinthians 4:16 (NKJV)

Yesterday was my birthday. I share with you a photo from my first birthday party. Yes, those curls are real – not sure what is on my head! Mom loved a party and each year she would plan a special day for me. I believe in this tradition. A birthday is to be celebrated! Mo 1st BD2

There was a time in my life I seriously believed that I would not live past the age of 40. Not sure where this thought came from, except it probably had something to do with the reckless life I was living. Now, here I am a senior citizen. Where did the years go?

I can honestly say that my past makes me the person I am today. Do I like living with a disability because of poor choices I made in my past? No, of course not! My body may be losing strength, but each day I can renew my mind in the Lord’s wonderful promises found in His Word.

We have a dear friend and mentor, we affectionately call Mama Hadassah. Iva is 88 years old and she has some physical limitations. What a privilege to regularly visit with her and share in her joy. She has taught us to completely trust in the Lord. As she studies the Word, He continues daily to give her new insights into the Father’s love.

I have never known anyone who has as much faith to believe the Word of God as Iva does. We know that in our life, she is truly a treasure from the Lord. Her life is a testimony of a renewed mind.

So take heart, no matter what age you find yourself, God still has a plan and a purpose for your life. Celebrate your time on earth! celebrate

So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12 (NKJV)
