October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I love this butterfly – with one glance you know breast cancer is not for wimps. You will need all four traits in your survival kit.
Love – Choose love over fear. 1 John 4:16; We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Faith – Let your faith be bigger than your fear. Hebrews 12:2; Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Strength – While you are healing from the physical scars or the emotional scars that breast cancer brings, meditate on His promise. Isaiah 40:29; “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength”
Hope – Hope looks forward. You will be able to break free from any fear and despair and receive healing and restoration. Psalm 39:7; “But now Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.”
Healing takes time; love, faith, strength and hope in the Lord’s goodness. I can testify to the long and difficult year I fought breast cancer. Today, I am a survivor. Hold on, your restoration is near!
God has great compassion towards you. For those of you who know someone suffering with disease, I hope you will put your compassion into action. Your encouraging words and prayers will bring hope to the hurting.
Thank you Lord for watching over me with your perfect love. You give me the strength to fight against disease. My faith in your goodness gives me hope for the future. I know I am not alone.
