Are You Among the Walking Wounded?

We have all experienced rejection in our lives. Rejection hurts, especially when it is emotional rejection. Rejection attacks our self-esteem, it chips away at our confidence, it breaks our heart. When we are mistreated an inner anger can express itself in rebellion, bitterness, hopelessness and other painful emotions.

We make promises to ourselves in order to protect our heart. Do either of these sound familiar? Nobody will ever tell me what to do again! I’ll never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again! The vows we make create blockages to inner healing.

Self-made walls become a defense system against anyone who may be able to hurt us. But God did not create us to be rejected. We are created to be accepted, loved and treasured. We are not defined by our past failures, disappointments or the rejection of others. One person’s rejection does not mean we are unlovable or that we are alone. Jesus experienced rejection. His love is unconditional and His acceptance is eternal. He has equipped us to forgive others and ourselves.

Isaiah 53:3 (NKJV)

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

We have a choice to make. What we do with the hurt and disappointments that we will encounter will either make us stronger in the Lord or we will become walking wounded. Every child of God has access to His grace, love, and comfort. How will you respond? The defining factor in victorious living is knowing God’s everlasting love for you.

 Romans 8:31 (NKJV)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Thank you, Lord, for your healing touch in our lives.

Are You Willing to Give the Lord the Key to Your Heart?

key to my heartHave you spent too much time in the valleys of life? Wouldn’t you like to walk in the freedom of Christ? Jesus’ shed blood on the cross paid the price to set us free.

Scripture tells us in Psalm 44:21b, For He knows the secrets of the heart.” God wants you to surrender control of your heart. I know this to be true because Jesus waited patiently for me, drawing me close to Him, at times lovingly chastising me along the path to discovering true freedom.

There was a time my heart had become hardened from pain and brokenness. My heart was locked inside walls of sorrow. I kept it protected from future pain, and I vowed never to let anyone or anything hurt me again. But, the Lord required me to hand over the key to my heart. He wanted access to all the locked doors.

Healing is a process. At times, I felt shackled to the weight of my sin. Guilt, shame and condemnation separated me from God’s healing. A hardened heart cannot yield to God’s plan of redemption. Jeremiah 29:11 states, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Your hope is secure in the Lord’s hands.

God knows the secrets of the heart Slowly, God’s light came into the wounded places bringing with it hope and healing. At times the healing was painful, but I was never alone. Jesus was with me and bringing me out of captivity one step at a time.

Firsthand, I experienced the Lord’s steadfast love and His compassionate heart. He healed my broken heart, one shattered piece at a time. All that was required of me was to trust Him with the key to my heart.

Pray-ButtonThank you Lord for your compassionate heart to bring healing and freedom into my life.

Has your heart become hardened as a result of life’s trials? What areas do you need to surrender to the Lord?

Created to be a Daughter of the King

Daughter of the King

“”””

“I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters”, Says the Lord Almighty.   2 Corinthians 6:18 (NKJV)

God calls you to the throne room. He invites you to come into His presence so He can love you, heal you and fulfill his destiny for you. He knows you intimately, He calls you by name, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.      (Matthew 10:30 NJKV)

The Bible is full of Scriptures (NKJV) that proclaim God’s love for you. Here are just a few to reflect on just how God sees you:

You are RedeemedInto Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.  Psalm 31:5

You are Loved The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”  Jeremiah 31:3

You are Blessed – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.  Ephesians 1:3

You are Chosen But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.  1 Peter 2:9

You are AdoptedHaving predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.  Ephesians 1:5

You are AcceptedTo the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.  Ephesians 1:6

The Lord has given you the keys to the kingdom. Jesus answered and said to him,  “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.”   (John 14:23 NKJV)

Prayer Lord, Thank you for the way you have made me to know you.  I open my heart to you and accept your amazing love for me. Amen.
