She’s Someone’s Daughter

Modern Day Slavery – It is Everywhere!

Many people believe that human trafficking only occurs in foreign countries. This is a dangerous misconception.

WHY? Human trafficking exists in the United States and sometimes right in our own backyard.

WHAT? Do you know the facts? How can you help eradicate this horrible beyond belief crime? I challenge each Christian to ask God, “What would you have me to do in preventing abuse and making an impact for victims?”

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

KNOW THE FACTS – Sex trafficking is a booming business. The common age a child enters sex trafficking is 14-16, but many are only 12 years of age. Can you imagine – She’s Someone’s Daughter who has lost her freedom!

Be a Super Hero for Christ

superhero-450419_640A superhero is a character who has super powers and abilities. In the war against evil, a superhero fights for truth and justice.

Over the years, superheroes have appeared in comic books, on television, and in the movies. These days it seems like there is no shortage of superhero characters.

The Lord has equipped us to be superheroes for Him. He wants us to fight for truth and justice. We are to be warriors in the army of God. We don’t need to put on a cape, but rather He has provided for us the armor of God.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:11-13 (NKJV)

shieldoffaith1

As we go out into an uncertain world, always remember to put on the full armor of God; for He is our protector. The belt of truth holds the armor in place and keeps us secure in Christ. The breastplate of righteousness guards our heart. Everywhere we walk we bring the promise of the gospel of peace. The shield of faith quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked. The helmet of salvation protects our minds from the lies of the enemy. The sword of the spirit represents the living word that pierces the darkness. Lastly, stay alert and pray!

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.                   Ephesians 6:14-18 (NKJV)

Pray EasyThank you, Lord, for shielding us from the evil one. We rest in your protection.

The Key to Living Free

b6bfefc186143ae8eaeb1d499136a691

The key to living free is to forgive those who trespass against you. God commands us to forgive, but it requires a conscious choice to do so. It is not a feeling, but an action. Are you willing to surrender embedded memories of shame, pain, and suffering to God?

You do not have to live in the past with a heart full of bitterness and guilt. The longer you carry resentment, the heavier it becomes. Isn’t it time to accept reality and move forward? Are you willing to open old wounds and let God show you the offending person as He sees them? Through His eyes of compassion and grace, you may just get a better understanding of why an individual acts the way they do.

Forgiveness is a prominent theme throughout the Bible. Unforgiveness and self-righteousness will block restoration. The Bible has over 101 verses referencing the action forgive.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

0e1273bff3ccc2a036ced1eee90e61a0Forgiving someone does not mean that what they did was ok. Instead, it is about setting your heart free from the chains of unforgiveness. Forgive them even if they are not sorry. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Most times, forgiveness is a slow process. We see this in The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant: Matthew 18:21-22

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

Jesus knows that forgiveness is not easy. It is not a one-time choice to be made and then we automatically live in a state of forgiveness. While that may sound great, forgiveness may require a lifetime of continuous forgiving.

We forgive out of obedience to the Lord. Our reward is called freedom.

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

Pray-Button Thank you, Lord, for forgiving me for any resentment and bitterness I hold against another. Where there has been an injustice, I choose to let you be Judge. I put my trust in you. Your power and grace are at work in me.

Are you holding unforgiveness in your heart? Are you willing to lay down your unforgiveness to receive freedom?

Choose to Become Better, not Bitter

Root of bitternessWe will encounter injustice in our lives. No one is immune from a harsh word spoken, an act of deception, a broken relationship, slander, unfair treatment or a host of other offenses. Bitterness has a strong root and it can become stubborn to pull from a burdened heart. The root is heavy and can last  for years. So what is the solution for overcoming bitterness and resentment? Pull out the root and you will remove the offender’s power over you.

While you may be able to hide the bitterness in your heart from others, the Lord looks at your heart. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7b (NKJV)

The Bible sets high importance on keeping our hearts pure: Keep your Guard heart - Prov 4-23heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 (NJKV)

To overcome bitterness and resentment you must first ask God to forgive you and then ask Him to forgive those who have caused the injustice against you. Pray daily for God’s healing. He will bring justice. Allow God to help you forgive and forget – You probably can’t do it on your own.

Choose to focus on the good in your life and not allow the bad that has happened to keep you from God’s best.

Always PRAY to have eyes that see the best in people,                              A heart that forgives the worst,                                                                            A mind that forgets the bad,                                                                                 And a soul that never loses faith in God!

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:  looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled. Hebrews 12:14-15 (NJKV)

Prayer – Lord, my hope is in you alone, not in my circumstances or earthly justice. I release all my bitterness to your healing power. Thank you that justice is in your hands.

Can the Super Bowl Raise Awareness of Sex Trafficking?

Sex trafficking occurs every day in the United States, in every one of our States. The Super Bowl is known as the single largest Sex Trafficking event in the United  States. Traffickers will transport thousands of girls to Phoenix and force them to make nightly quotas for them.

Prostituted women and children are forced to make hundreds of dollars in nightly quotas to be given to their traffickers.

Traffickers sell women and children on line everyday. Sufficient Grace Outreach operates a call center to reach out to these victims and offer them hope and resources to escape the lifestyle their pimps force on them.

Christ Came to Set the Captives Free

flag-heartThere will be thousands of Americans celebrating our country’s freedom this weekend. Independence Day often is celebrated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, concerts, and ceremonies. However, let us not forget large public celebrations, such as the Fourth of July, increase the demands of sex trafficking. Thousands of precious children and women will be violated in unimaginable ways as slaves held captive in sex trafficking. These captives long to experience freedom again.

• The average age of entry into prostitution for a child victim in the United States is 13-14 years old. (U.S. Department of Justice)
• A pimp can make $150,000-$200,000 per child each year and the average pimp has 4 to 6 girls. (U.S. Justice Department, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children)
• The average victim may be forced to have sex up to 20-48 times a day. (Polaris Project)

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
