October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Why are these women smiling? They have HOPE. Breast cancer is still the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Only lung cancer kills more women each year.  What you need to know and how can you help?

Statistics show that most probably we all know someone (if not yourself) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I fought breast cancer one difficult year. The endless tests, surgeries and depleted energy were all part of my healing journey. Today, I can count myself as a survivor!

Healing takes time, but you are not alone. God has great compassion towards you!  Here are some Scriptures you can trust in:

Love – Choose love over fear. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. ~ 1 John 4:16

Believe – Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” ~ Mark 9:23

Hope – Look forward. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. ~ Psalm 130:5

Faith – Let your faith be bigger than your circumstances. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ~ Hebrews 11:1

Cure – The Lord is with you – be dependent on him today. Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. ~ Jeremiah 33:6

Strength – Meditate on His promises. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength ~ Psalm 39:7

Courage – Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. ~ Deuteronomy 31:6

Cherish – The Lord considers you a treasureFor no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. ~ Ephesians 5:29

Peace – Rest in Him. The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace. ~ Psalm 29:11

Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

All Scriptures are taken from NJKV.

Thank you, Lord, for watching over me with your perfect love. You give me the strength to fight against disease and the faith to hope in your goodness.

Once You Choose Hope Anything is Possible

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Looking at the statistics above, it seems likely that we all know someone (if not yourself) that has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Myself, I can testify to the difficult year I fought breast cancer. The endless tests, surgeries, and depleted energy were all a part of my journey of restoration. Today I can declare I am a survivor!

Here are some attributes that you will want to hold close to your heart while you are going through your healing.

Love – Choose love over fear.  Love never fails. 1 John 4:16; We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Faith – Let your faith be bigger than your circumstances. Have faith in the goodness of God to provide hope for the future. Hebrews 12:2; Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Strength – While you are healing from the physical scars or the emotional scars that breast cancer brings, meditate on His promises. He is faithful. Isaiah 40:29;  “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength”

Hope – Hope looks forward. You will be able to break free from any fear and despair and receive healing and restoration. Psalm 39:7; “But now Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.”

Pink Hope

Hold On Pain Ends – Whatever you are struggling with today, I encourage you to open your heart to the one who is our hope. The Lord is with you  –  be dependent on Him today. Rest in Him and His promise of eternal life. Nothing can separate you from His love for you. Once You Choose Hope Anything is Possible!

Cultivate Compassion – God has great compassion towards you. Now put your compassion into action. There are many practical ways to help a woman that is suffering. You can lighten her load by preparing a meal, helping with the kids, running errands, and completing household chores. Your encouraging words and prayers will bring hope to the hurting.

Pray-ButtonThank you, Lord, for your love and compassion towards me. Show me those who need my help and compassion.

Scars are Healing Keepsakes of Restoration

scars

I have scars – plenty of them. Some are a consequence of injury, some are a result of surgeries. Regardless, scars are permanent, (unless you know a good plastic surgeon). Scar tissue forms over the wound; it is the body’s way of repairing damaged tissue. It aids in the healing process bringing restoration of health.

breast cancerAs we wrap up Breast Cancer Awareness Month, statistics show that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. We applaud those women who survive the fight. Breast cancer is not for the faint-of-heart! I fought it myself for a year. It leaves scars; physical and emotional.

Whether you are healing from physical wounds or the emotional wounds of a broken heart, Jesus gives us His promise from Isaiah 40:29:  He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.  (NKJV)

Healing takes time, hope, love and faith in the Lord. Find your strength in the Lord’s goodness. Your restoration is near!

Zechariah 9:11-13:  Return prisoner-of-hope1to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Even today I declare that I will restore double to you. (NJKV)

PrayerLord,  thank you that you are watching over me with your perfect love. Because you bought me with your precious blood, you provide me with eternal life. You give me the strength to fight against any challenges I might face, and the peace to calm my troubled heart from fear.
