She’s Someone’s Daughter

Modern Day Slavery – It is Everywhere!

Many people believe that human trafficking only occurs in foreign countries. This is a dangerous misconception.

WHY? Human trafficking exists in the United States and sometimes right in our own backyard.

WHAT? Do you know the facts? How can you help eradicate this horrible beyond belief crime? I challenge each Christian to ask God, “What would you have me to do in preventing abuse and making an impact for victims?”

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

KNOW THE FACTS – Sex trafficking is a booming business. The common age a child enters sex trafficking is 14-16, but many are only 12 years of age. Can you imagine – She’s Someone’s Daughter who has lost her freedom!

Receive the Gift of No Condemnation

gift-1760869_640

Here we are in the season of gift giving. The excitement of Christmas and Hanukkah surround us. Are you excited about the perfect gift you found for a special someone? In your mind, you are rehearsing the joyful surprise of the blessing to come as you hand them their gift.

Jesus gave many gifts to those he called His sons and daughters. Among His many blessings, He is reaching out to you to receive His gift of No Condemnation.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1

In chapter 8 of the gospel of John, Jesus teaches about overcoming condemnation from others.

The scribes and Pharisees attempted to discredit and challenge Jesus by bringing a woman charged with adultery before Him. Adultery was punishable by stoning under the law of Moses. Jesus responded to those who judged her, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” Those who heard it, being convicted by their sins, dropped their stones and walked away.

When Jesus found himself alone with the woman, he said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”  She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

The power to live a lifestyle free from sin comes from accepting the wonderous gift of Jesus taking on the condemnation for our sins. Now that is the freedom to walk in peace, joy, and faith, and to live the abundant life that Jesus came to give us!

And if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed! John 8:36

Pray EasyThank you, Lord, for the abundant gifts you give to your children.

The Key to Living Free

b6bfefc186143ae8eaeb1d499136a691

The key to living free is to forgive those who trespass against you. God commands us to forgive, but it requires a conscious choice to do so. It is not a feeling, but an action. Are you willing to surrender embedded memories of shame, pain, and suffering to God?

You do not have to live in the past with a heart full of bitterness and guilt. The longer you carry resentment, the heavier it becomes. Isn’t it time to accept reality and move forward? Are you willing to open old wounds and let God show you the offending person as He sees them? Through His eyes of compassion and grace, you may just get a better understanding of why an individual acts the way they do.

Forgiveness is a prominent theme throughout the Bible. Unforgiveness and self-righteousness will block restoration. The Bible has over 101 verses referencing the action forgive.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

0e1273bff3ccc2a036ced1eee90e61a0Forgiving someone does not mean that what they did was ok. Instead, it is about setting your heart free from the chains of unforgiveness. Forgive them even if they are not sorry. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Most times, forgiveness is a slow process. We see this in The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant: Matthew 18:21-22

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

Jesus knows that forgiveness is not easy. It is not a one-time choice to be made and then we automatically live in a state of forgiveness. While that may sound great, forgiveness may require a lifetime of continuous forgiving.

We forgive out of obedience to the Lord. Our reward is called freedom.

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

Pray-Button Thank you, Lord, for forgiving me for any resentment and bitterness I hold against another. Where there has been an injustice, I choose to let you be Judge. I put my trust in you. Your power and grace are at work in me.

Are you holding unforgiveness in your heart? Are you willing to lay down your unforgiveness to receive freedom?

Your Baggage Isn’t Too Heavy for Jesus

Jesus with bags

The Lord not only wants to carry your burdens, He wants to help you unpack the weight of regrets, guilt, unforgiveness, bitterness, and brokenness. Let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

God carries our sins. His sacrificial love secures the freedom and joy we experience in trusting Him. He himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. (1 Peter 2:24)

God carries our anxieties and worries. How many of us endure sleepless nights carrying burdens? These could include decisions, afflictions, relationships, fears, lack and so many more! These emotions are too heavy for us to carry alone. We have help and hope from our Savior who tells us to Cast all our anxiety on Him, because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7)

God carries the cause of justice for us. We all have experienced unfairness. At times, the ungodly actions of others impact us negatively. How can we not be embittered by the injustice in the world? The only answer is to let God carry your cause and settle accounts for you. Vengeance is mine, I will repay (Romans 12:19)

God carries each one of us throughout our lives. God formed you in your mother’s womb and He will carry you all of your days. Here’s proof: Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Me from birth, Who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you. (Isaiah 46:3-4)

Prayer: Lord there are situations in our life where we become heavy laden. Help us to come to you and find rest for our souls.  Enemy
