10 Things God Wants You To Remember

In Joshua 4, God tells the Israelites to form a stone tower to remember how the Lord made a way for them to enter the Promised Land. This monument served as a reminder to them and their future generations of what God had done for them.

Today we still need reminders of God’s love and faithfulness. If you lose sight of the truth of God’s love and mercy during a trial or hardship, take the time to remember these 10 things. (I ‘m certain you would be able to add to this list.)

I will give you rest ~ Matthew 11:29

I will strengthen you ~ Philippians 4:13

I will answer you ~ Mark 11:22

I believe in you ~ John 3:16

I will bless you ~ Matthew 5:8

I am for you ~ John 14:3

I will not fail you ~ Isaiah 58:11

I will provide for you ~ Genesis 45:11

I will be with you ~ Hebrews 13:5

                                                            I love you ~ John 13:34

Thank you, Lord,  for sharing your faithfulness to us each day!

Once You Choose Hope Anything is Possible

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Looking at the statistics above, it seems likely that we all know someone (if not yourself) that has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Myself, I can testify to the difficult year I fought breast cancer. The endless tests, surgeries, and depleted energy were all a part of my journey of restoration. Today I can declare I am a survivor!

Here are some attributes that you will want to hold close to your heart while you are going through your healing.

Love – Choose love over fear.  Love never fails. 1 John 4:16; We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Faith – Let your faith be bigger than your circumstances. Have faith in the goodness of God to provide hope for the future. Hebrews 12:2; Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Strength – While you are healing from the physical scars or the emotional scars that breast cancer brings, meditate on His promises. He is faithful. Isaiah 40:29;  “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength”

Hope – Hope looks forward. You will be able to break free from any fear and despair and receive healing and restoration. Psalm 39:7; “But now Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.”

Pink Hope

Hold On Pain Ends – Whatever you are struggling with today, I encourage you to open your heart to the one who is our hope. The Lord is with you  –  be dependent on Him today. Rest in Him and His promise of eternal life. Nothing can separate you from His love for you. Once You Choose Hope Anything is Possible!

Cultivate Compassion – God has great compassion towards you. Now put your compassion into action. There are many practical ways to help a woman that is suffering. You can lighten her load by preparing a meal, helping with the kids, running errands, and completing household chores. Your encouraging words and prayers will bring hope to the hurting.

Pray-ButtonThank you, Lord, for your love and compassion towards me. Show me those who need my help and compassion.

Breast Cancer Survival Kit

Breast Cancer Butterfly

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I love this butterfly – with one glance  you know breast cancer is not for wimps. You will need all four traits in your survival kit.

Love – Choose love over fear. 1 John 4:16; We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Faith – Let your faith be bigger than your fear. Hebrews 12:2; Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Strength – While you are healing from the physical scars or the emotional scars that breast cancer brings, meditate on His promise.

Pink Hope

Healing takes time; love, faith, strength and hope in the Lord’s goodness. I can testify to the long and difficult year I fought breast cancer. Today, I am a survivor. Hold on, your restoration is near!

God has great compassion towards you. For those of you who know someone suffering with disease, I hope you will put your compassion into action. Your encouraging words and prayers will bring hope to the hurting.

Pray-ButtonThank you Lord for watching over me with your perfect love. You give me the strength to fight against disease. My faith in your goodness gives me hope for the future. I know I am not alone.

God’s Scrapbook of Love

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.       Matthew 6:21  (NKJV)photo albums

Our photos are important – they act as a reminder of the people we love; family and friends, special occasions, vacations, houses we called home, pets and all the important moments of life. Creating a scrapbook of all those beautiful, meaningful moments is a treasured keepsake for present and future generations to enjoy.

For years, I taught scrapbooking classes. There were times of laughter, tears and joy as I shared in the memories of my fellow scrapbookers. We’ve all heard the expression, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. But is it really…don’t we need the photo journaling to go along with the picture? Without some description, the priceless photo can become a nameless snapshot.

In a scrapbook we have a wonderful opportunity to share in the goodness of God; birthday photos that signify another year of God’s blessings, scenic photos that share God’s magnificent creation, family photos showing God’s love and faithfulness – just to name a few. O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!  Psalm 8:9

If God had a scrapbook about you, His love and blessings would appear in abundance through the pages of your book. It would look something like this:

Baby photosFor You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.  Psalm 139:13

Parenting photosYou shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.                              Deuteronomy 6:7

Birthday photosThe Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Family photosBut Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.  Luke 2:19

Friend photosThe righteous should choose his friends carefully.          Proverbs 12:26

Scenic photosIn the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Genesis 1:1

Christmas photosNow after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.  Matthew 2:1-2

Graduation photosFor I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11

Celebrating You photosFor we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

Remembrance photos I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.  Philippians 1:3

wallet with heart“If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If God had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. He could live anywhere in the universe and He chose your heart.”   Mark Stibbe

Open the Door of Your Heart to the Goodness of God

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)

The goodness of God is a life-transforming truth. He is our foundation of goodness. Our goodness comes from God. The more we know God’s goodness, the more we can put our trust in Him. The more we trust Him, the easier it is for us to put our confidence in Him to provide good things for us according to His perfect plan.

heart keyWhat encouragement this brings to a weary heart! God’s goodness draws us to Him. Look around and you will see the goodness of God in your live.

I can still remember the hymns we sang in Sunday School;  Count your blessings, see what God hath done! (Johnson Oatman, Jr. 1897) and God is so good; He’s so good to me! (Velna A. Ledin, 1933).

The Lord is our perfect role model of goodness. Because of His love we can strive to show the goodness of God to others. There are many waiting for you to show His love to be steadfast and true.

What a promise:  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Psalm 23:6 (NKJV)

Let God love you, give Him your love in return, and share His love with others. Because of His goodness, He provided salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Now that’s good news!
